How to set up your own Breww Trade Store

The Breww Trade Store is a private trade platform that lets your customers order from you any time of day or night without needing to email or phone. Using the Trade Store, your customers can go from needing beer to having beer ordered with their favourite brewery (you) in under a minute.

What is the cost?

The Trade Store is free to set up, and pricing is simple. We charge 1% of the sales made through the Trade Store monthly. This means you are never stuck with lofty monthly subscription costs for slower months. Instead, we like to keep it simple and fair at 1%.

Getting set up!

The Trade Store is designed to be simple to set up. You won't need a web developer; it will usually take no more than a couple of hours to get up and running.

Enabling your Trade Store.

To start setting up your Trade Store, head to Settings ->Breww Trade Store settings. To Enable your Trade Store, you will need to check the two boxes at the top of the page, confirming you are allowing invited customers to purchase through the Trade Store and that you understand the pricing. Once your Trade Store is enabled, you can edit the settings and test how they look and work.

As nobody can view your trade store without you granting access, you can start configuring the options and product descriptions/images and test the entire process with your own account to make sure everything looks how you want it before you invite any of your customers.

Viewing your Trade Store

Throughout the set-up, you may want to return to your Trade Store and check the changes you have made. To do this, you will need to set yourself up as a customer for your own Trade Store. The quickest way to do this will be to click View my trade store at the top right of your Trade Store settings page. Clicking this button will now take you through the customer request access flow. Enter the essential details marked with a * and make your access request.

Returning to Breww, refresh the page, and you’ll see a badge on the Customer section, denoting the access request. Click on Customers, then on the Trade store access requests tab, where you can accept the request. You’ll need to create a customer for your staff access. Now, you can test your new trade store and see it exactly as one of your customers would.

Products, General Settings and branding and content

Now that you have enabled your Trade Store and can view it, you will need to configure its settings to define how your Trade Store works, give it your unique branding and choose what products can be sold.

Products

Though it is not essential to start by selecting what products can be purchased through your Trade Store, doing so will allow you to see how the changes you make in the General Settings and Branding & Content pages impact your product pages.

At this particular point, you do not have to worry about which customers can buy which products. You only need to decide if that product will be sold to anyone via the Trade Store; if the answer is yes, enable the product on the Trade Store, and you will, later on, be able to add some customer-specific rules to exclude certain products from being seen or purchased by some customers.

Enabling products is simple. You can do it either by ticking the option for "Available on Trade Store" when creating a new product, in bulk using the quick sliders available on the products tab of your Trade Store settings page, or when doing a product bulk update.

All pricing for your products is based on the price book assigned to the customer; any price book rules and discounts will be pulled through to the Trade Store

General Settings

In General settings, you can configure various settings that control how your Trade Store will work, including how your stock levels are shown and whether you want deliveries to be automatically scheduled.

Branding and content

Within the Branding & content settings tab, you can customise colours, fonts, some of the text displayed on your trade store, the background image for your Access request, login and similar pages.

Product pages

Clicking on any beer product on the Trade Store will take you to a page for that beer. This page can include a short customer-facing description, images set against the beer, product-specific images, and will always include the purchasing options for that beer.

Beer description and images

Setting a customer-facing description and images for your beer is done directly on the beer in Breww. To do this, head to Products -> Beers, and view the beer you want to set either a description or image on.

To set an image (or multiple images) on your beer, you will need to scroll down to the Images & files tab on the beer page and upload your image files by either dragging and dropping them into or clicking on the upload box. If you set multiple images against, you can reorder them; you should ensure the image you want displayed as the primary image for your beer is put in position number one. Any images in position two onwards will be on the purchasing page for that beer and can be seen by tabbing or swiping the main image.

To add a Trade Store description for your beer, you will need to select the Edit button at the top right of the page for your beer. Once in the edit screen scroll down and you will see the Trade Store description field, simply fill this in and select save.

Product images, descriptions, and settings

You can control a number of Trade Store settings on a product level and set product-specific images. For non-beer products (such as merchandise) and mixed-packs, you can also add a Trade Store description for the product and a Trade Store name override. For products like pump clips, you can associate them with the corresponding beers so they are seen by customers shopping by beer.

You can set a product image by editing the product itself in Breww. Any product-specific images will be shown in the basket, on any product type view on the Trade Store, e.g. Browse by Multi-pack and in some other places where your customer has already chosen a specific product.

To set a product-specific image or configure any product-specific settings, navigate to Products, find your product in the list and view it. Once on the product details page, select Actions ->Edit. On the edit product page, you will need to scroll down to the Breww Trade Store section of your product configuration, and you will find all of your Trade Store settings available for that product and an upload box for your images.

Setting customer rules

Customer-specific rules can be set in the Customer-specific rules tab and allow you to define a set of additional rules relating to your trade store (such as excluded products or minimum order values), and then apply these rules to a subset of your trade store customers only. Once a rule is defined, you can apply it to specific customers. As a customer could be associated with multiple rules, but just one can apply, Breww will look at the associations in the following order and use the first trade store rule that is found.

  1. Set directly on the customer.
  2. Set on the customer group.
  3. Set on the customer type.
  4. Set on a customer list that the customer is part of. (If the customer is part of multiple lists with differing rules, the first rule in your list of created rules will be the one used. Rules can be dragged to reorder.)

Customer Trade Store access

Now that your Trade Store is set up, you can invite customers to shop with you. You will be provided with a unique URL (website address) for your trade store. You can link to this from your website, and potential customers can use the Request access button to ask you for access. They will be unable to see any of your products or prices until you have approved this request from within Breww.

In addition to allowing customers to request access, you can also easily invite existing customers to save them from having to fill in their details. To do this, find the customer in Breww and click on the Breww Trade Store tab, and you’ll see an Invite someone button, where you can invite the customer by email, and Breww will send them a special link that will allow them access to your trade store.

Trade Store functions elsewhere in Breww

When on a product’s page within Breww, click on the Breww Trade Store tab to see a breakdown of that product’s listing on the trade store. When creating or editing a product/beer, you can add a trade store image, description and name override if you’d like. Alias, derived & guest beers products can also be added to the trade store.

From the Breww Trade Store tab on any customer’s page, you can also view the current basket contents of the customer, which is ideal if they call you with a question during their buying process.
