Adjust vessel volumes
There may be scenarios where the volume of a batch in a vessel needs to be adjusted; this can either be an increase in volume or a decrease (not via a racking). There may also be scenarios where you need to empty the final volume of a vessel if it hasn't been emptied on a racking or a transfer, or you may need to waste the entire volume in a vessel.
You add volume to a vessel by selecting Actions->Add volume to vessel on the main Production screen or on a batch by selecting Actions->Add liquid/volume.
If you have chosen to access this feature through the batch, and the batch is being held in a single vessel, the Vessel to add to field will be automatically populated with the correct vessel. If you have gone through the batch, and the batch is split across multiple vessels, then you will be able to select from the vessels holding the batch. If you have accessed this feature directly from the main Production page, then you will be able to choose from all of your vessels.
You can then add the adjustment, the date/time done (this will automatically be set to the 'current' time, but you can change this if needed) and any notes for the adjustment.
In the example below, 50L of liquor is being added to the vessel.
There may be scenarios where you add liquid adjuncts to the vessel, such as fruit purees/juices/syrups. In this case, you can account for this when adding the volume to the vessel by adding the stock items used and the quantity; you can then select add volume.
If the vessel volume has decreased through racking or transfers, or there have been losses when completing a racking or a transfer, then this feature should not be used; the dedicated racking and transfers features should be used instead. However, you may have a scenario where the volume in the vessel has decreased for other reasons; for example, you may have used some of the beer from the vessel for QA purposes. You may also need to rectify a mistake where the initial transfer volume has been transferred incorrectly. You will be able to reduce the volume in vessel by simply entering a negative number in the Liquid volume field. If you would rather correct the initial transfer volume, then you will be able to do this by following the Undo/correct batch errorsο»Ώ help guide.
When racking or transferring a batch, you will be able to account for the wastage, which may be the remaining volume in the vessel. In this case, you can simply select to waste the remaining volume during the racking or transfer process. However, you may need to waste the remaining volume after racking/transferring, or you may need to waste an entire batch and, therefore, the entire vessel.
You will be able to empty the vessel from the main production page by selecting Actions->Empty vessel. This will give you a full list of vessels holding batches that can be selected and emptied with a wastage reason. You will also be able to empty a vessel directly on a batch by selecting Actions->Empty vessel; this will show the same page, but the vessels shown will only be those that contain the selected batch.
